Last week, we celebrated the official start of our campaign for Pawtucket School Committee. Constituents, community leaders, elected officials, friends and family gathered at one of our favorite local pubs in Pawtucket to support Roberto's run for office.
In a packed Sullivan's Publick House, patrons ate, drank, and listened to kind words about Roberto in casual conversations and from Rhode Island leaders. Pawtucket School Committee Chairman Gerard Charbonneau, Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebian, State Senator Sandra Cano, and our Congressman, representing Rhode Island's 2nd District, Jim Langevin, spoke to Roberto's perseverance, work ethic, intelligence, and passion for public service.
They reiterated what we know to be true - that Roberto is right for the Pawtucket School Committee.
Roberto's good friend and educator Andrew Larson served as Master of Ceremonies, and two of the most revered speeches of the night were delivered by Roberto's sister Yvette, and his mother, Adriana.
"Last night was incredible," Roberto said about the kick-off. "Your contributions, your presence and most importantly your support, is what gives us the strength to keep our message going," and to continue making a difference in our community.
Our count-down to kick-off is now the countdown to the primary. Can we count on you to help get out the vote on Wed. September 12th?
